Condolences

Miss Murphy was one of my absolute favourites at Perdue. She encouraged me to go into education and I recently retired after 33 amazing years. I’m sorry this message is so late… I just found out about her passing today. Thanks for everything Miss Murphy.

We are so sorry to hear about Margaret, was glad we got to see her at Mom's 90th. Mom had a spill down the stairs, not up to her usual self, or we would have been there. Love Lynda and Mildred Page and families.

Aunt Margaret you are such an inspiration to us all -- your advice was always good and your sense of humour never wavering. You made all children feel special and loved and that love and attention followed us as we grew up. Thank you for being such a great Aunt and friend.

There is not enough space to describe all the kind and wonderful things about Margaret and how much she meant to our family. Her and Anne have always treated us and our kids so special. You will be so miss Margaret, especially at Halloween. Loving thoughts to all the Murphy's on the loss of such a dear and wonderful sister, aunt and friend.

To Dan, Tom, Anne and all the Murphy family: We were sad to hear of Margaret's passing. Her dedication and passion for her family, friends and profession was evident by the way she responded to her nieces, nephews, students and neighbours. A tribute to her and a life well lived. Rest in peace Margaret and to your family, God bless. Wayne & Florence (Dinneen) Sullivan

I am a fellow aqua fit participant. Marg and I had a lot in common as I am a retired teacher too. I entered a second career in real estate and she was always interested in the real estate market which we chatted about often. We also shared an interest in golf. Marg was so proud of her family and often talked about all the great family gatherings in Mount Forest at the farm. I regret that I did not know that she was ill so reading her obituary in the Toronto star today was a shock. I am sorry that I did not have a chance to have a visit with Marg. She was very well liked and respected and she will be deeply missed. My condolences to the family and her sister Anne who sometimes joined us for a swim or Christmas lunch.

Dear Anne and family.... I was so very sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. I passed by the farm just a few weeks ago and stopped in on a whim but no-one was there at the time. Wishing your family much peace during this difficult time. Lori

Margaret was a fantastic Aunt who will be greatly missed. I will remember her laugh, her sense of humour and her quick wit. As well as our visits to the Dew Drop Inn and swimming at Varney not to mention the Varney Speedway!

I knew Marg from the pool at One Health in Mississauga. We talked a lot about my son being away at school on a baseball scholarship , she was truly interested in how he was doing and how I was doing with him being away!! She was a great lady who always had a smile on her face...so sorry for your loss...

— Elaine O'Neill, November 18, 2013

I am sadly remembering Marg with great affection. I was in residence at U of T and roomed down the hall from Marg. Our many fun filled experiences often centred around Marg and her easy going witty peronality. I managed to attend on the friends' reunions in Toronto a few years ago and realized how her personality had maturered into her being a leader in education, dedicated to makeing her students achieve their potential. The wit was still present. I know your grief is deep at this loss but Murphy togetherness will see many happy memories shared. My prayers and deepest sympathy to you all. Sincerely, Katie
