— Anita Cherney, August 30, 2014Our condolences to the Sheehan family.sorry to hear about John's passing away,he was a great friend and my visits to canora are not the same without a chat with my old buddy. Jim
— Jim and Hazel Dickie, September 24, 2008We remember when John and Edith came to Togo to work for Neil McKinnon. Not long after Edith and I, Phyllis delivered our daughters Anita and Leanne at the Kamsack hospital. John would fuel up his mail truck at our service station in Togo on his run from Roblin to Canora. In fact he had his own key to the station! Our condolences to the family and our very best to Anita. I believe you might remember visiting us with your parents years ago in Regina.
— ted & phyllis ireland, September 21, 2008Dear Donna, Mike & Family: Owen and I were very saddened to hear of your dad's passing. Hold onto the precious memories you have of your dear dad as we are sure you have many. Donna, you talked so highly and proudly of your dad and I know you will surely miss him. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we are here for you. We do feel your pain very much at this time. We love you all and hold you very dearly in our hearts. Love, Owen and Ruth
— Owen & Ruth Dawe, January 1, 2010A tribute to Father: My Father loved to drive. He was a truck driver starting at age 16 to about age 74. During those years he has rescued several people including those stranded in broken down vehicles and a burning building near Yorkton. His friends were the best. He quit smoking in '74 and quit drinking on his own as well. He had two open heart surgeries which is when his memory started to fail. He was a whiz in math and could easily do figures in his head. His best moments were driving the Peterbuilt mail truck. He believed the mail MUST go through and the only thing that stopped him is when the road was actually closed. A true professional. Few people have driven as long or as far as he has. Submitted by Anita Cherney
— Anita Cherney, September 16, 2008Dear Family: I was shocked and saddened by Father's passing. While we all knew that he wasn't well his health seemed to deteriorate suddenly. I'm thankful that Ange and Ted were at Caressant Care to be there as much as possible during the last few days. I wish you all well as you heal in the future. Anita Cherney
