Condolences

Jimmy It saddens me writing this. I was so fortunate to meet you 10 years ago when I transferred to Wellington. You were a ray of sunshine on many dark days. I don’t ever recall a time you didn’t come when we called. It was always a pleasure to work beside you. You will be truly missed. May you rest easy and know that you will always be fondly remembered.

Jimmy will truly be missed by all of us with the Wellington County OPP. He was reliable when we needed his service. Most notably, Jimmy showed compassion. Many who spent the night behind bars will remember Jimmy. Jimmy would show dignity by throwing them an extra blanket and ensure that they were fed. He'd chat with them like a grandfather and calm those who were very emotional. Thank you Jimmy for your service. Rest easy. Cst. Kirk MacDonald

Carol, you have our deepest sympathy and are in our thoughts.

Dear Jimmy, Whether it was 2am or not, you always answered the call. " Let me make a sandwich and get a coffee and I'll be there," you would respond. For over a decade, I can't remember a single time you didn't answer our request. The only exception, a few years ago, during a stormy winter night; you asked: "The roads are bad, could someone pick me up?" I was your chauffeur that night for our trip from Mount Forest to Fergus. You never let us down Jimmy. Your commitment was enduring; even when Donna 'passed' you asked: " Give me a couple of days (to mourn) and then you can consider me available again." Thank you Jimmy for your service, your acquaintance and your reliability. You will be missed by all of us that 'placed the call' …. for guarding duties. Provincial Constable Patrick Mullan
