Condolences

Dear David, Emma and Douglas, I was so sorry to hear the news about Nancy's passing. I have know Nancy for more than 15 years during which time I depended on her for her bookkeeping services, but also got to know her as a friend. Nancy's meticulous attention to detail made her a great and dependable bookkeeper, but even more important was her cheery outlook on life. Even on bad days it seemed she could find a reason to smile. I will miss her and I know that this is a huge loss for you. My heart goes out to all of you. - Stephanie

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to Nancy's family. There's such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor. 4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection; this is our hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps. 83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.

Our deepest condolences to the Gullison family. We were Nancy\\\\\\'s neighbours for the last 20 years and will miss her very much. She was always there for a few words of conversation when we'd see each other. A kind woman who will always be remembered by our family. Joe and Iva Internicola

My sympathies to Nancy's family. I was also involved with Nancy through Dixon Neighbourhood Homes. Her careful attention to detail, her extensive knowledge of the social housing sector, and her pride in a job well done gave great comfort to the board members. She had a great attitude to battling the cancer - optimistic and resolute that she was going to beat it. And throughout the battle, she continued to help Dixon Neighbourhood Homes, until she could no longer do so. We appreciate such commitment greatly. And I am so disappointed to hear that she lost the battle.

I am so sorry to hear of Nancy's death. I worked with her for about 1 1/2 years at Dixon Neighbourhood Homes. She was a great teacher to me of how to run a tight ship organizationally. She cared deeply that her (and my!) work was done properly. She was the living memory of the organization. I pray for her family during this awful time of saying goodbye way too soon to their loved one.
