Leonard William John McGaughey, of Mount Forest, passed away at Caressant Care, Harriston on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018 in his 75th year. Beloved husband to May McGaughey. Caring father to Patrick McGaughey of Grand Valley, Kathleen Hill of Arthur, Colleen Elson of Wyevale. Dear step father to Karen Kott of Dunnville, Robin Sodka of Wainfleet, Valarie Murphy of Hamilton, Wanda Page of Hamilton, and Angela Hollen of Fergus. Proud grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 14. Predeceased by his parents John and Ethel McGaughey and his sister Bertha Kidnie. Len was a longtime member of the Mount Forest Agricultural Society, the Bird Club, and the Damascus Euchre Club. Friends may call at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Friday, August 17th, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Len’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 p.m. with visitation prior to the service from 11-11:45 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
