SPAANS, William “Bill” – Passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in his 97th year.
Beloved husband of Dorothy Spaans (née Weiser). Loving father of Jane Manning and her husband Robert and William Spaans and his wife Cynthia. Lovingly remembered by Dorothy’s daughters; Gina de los Santos and her partner Colin Comissiong, and Lori Weiser. Cherished grandfather of Kendra Hanley (Mitchell), Kyle Manning (Jaclyn Neeb), Candice Spaans (Shawn Patterson), Jasmine Coe (Richard), Billie-Jo Spaans, Leah de los Santos, Sarah de los Santos; and great-grandpa to Adelaide, Annabelle, Kyla, Hailey, Alexis, Addilyn, and Brysen. Dear brother of Henk (Gé) Spaans, Marta Vanderwal, and Nettie (Gerry) Kuipers. Also survived by his cousin Ria Schaafsma, and nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Willem and Wilhelmina Spaans, and brother-in-law Peter Vanderwal.
Visitation will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, Ontario on Saturday, February 14th from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 12:00 p.m.
