WILSON, Ronald Douglas

August 12, 1962 – October 25, 2024

Ron “Ronnie” passed away on Friday, October 25th at the age of 62. Beloved son of Linda Wilson (late Sterling). Cherished father of Heather Wilson (Patrick), and Amber Wilson-Johnston (Joshua). Adored grandfather of McCale, Wyatt and Holt. Dearly loved by his sister Cathy Teeter (late Kevin) and brother Todd Wilson. Dear uncle of Amanda, Ashley and Alyssa. Predeceased by his cherished Grandma Ruby.Ronnie will live on in the hearts of many, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Survived by his father Doug Wilson.

It is difficult to put into words Ronnie’s larger than life personality. He will be remembered for his witty comebacks and quick one-liners, ginger beard, motorbike, love of hockey, The Tragically Hip, coffee and Coca-Cola, and for his “daily perimeter checks”. More than anything else in the world, Ronnie cherished his family, especially his grandsons who affectionately call him “Grandpa Holstein” and “Paw-Pop”. He would always have snacks and treats for them and loved seeing the smiles on their faces. He was supportive and non-judgemental, always taking interest in their activities. His kind, loving, quiet, hilarious, sentimental, creative and talented ways will be missed.

Private funeral arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ron are asked to consider the Ontario Wildlife Foundation.

“First thing we'd climb a tree
And maybe then we'd talk
Or sit silently
And listen to our thoughts
With illusions of someday
Cast in a golden light
No dress rehearsal
This is our life”

An excerpt from “Ahead by a Century” by The Tragically Hip

Linda, Cathy, Todd, Heather, Amber & families, it was with great sadness that the Wilson family learned of Ronnie's passing. A lot of my memories of Ronnie where watching him grow up and he was always a sweet, gentle boy. He never gave me any trouble when I was babysitting him. When we talked on the phone occasionally over the years he was always happy to chat and he'd fill me in on his lovely family. Linda, you raised an amazing man. I know this must be exceptionally difficult for all those who loved Ronnie.
The ones we love are never gone; they live within our hearts. Love always, Aunt Linda
