Growing up I loved spending time in Cedarville visiting with my Grandparents and Aunt Ruthie. Aunt Ru was always so kind and took great care of us. I can still hear her voice calling from the back porch: "Soup’s on!" She would cry, and we all came running in for our warm lunch around the table. Before it was time to go back outside or to Grandpa’s shop, she would lovingly serve us generous portions of our traditional dessert: Three flavors ice cream. The image of her and young Dave standing in the kitchen with smiles on their faces, taking care to see that all portions were exactly even, remains clear as if it were yesterday. She gave me a children’s picture Bible, and read through most of it with me, explaining all the „characters“. Later I loved reading through her vast collection of Archie comics and sharing many hearty laughs with her, over the shenanigans in which the Riverdale gang found themselves. Indeed there were so many great things to find in the old Cedarville house, As with the comic books, there was Ruthies vast record collection. My early musical education on the Beatles (among others) is all thanks to Ruthie. I asked question after question as we listend and read through all of those LP booklets and sleeves. She gladly told me all she knew and always had a few quirky facts and opinions. With Christmas approaching, I fondly remember Ruthie handing out gifts around the tree on Boxing Day and being so happy to have the family together to celebrate. Ruthie is dearly missed and her memory is a blessing.
Condolences to the Fearis family on the passing of Ruthie. While growing up in Cedarville I remember Ruthie as being a very kind and gentle young lady.

She taught so much about loving God.
She was so compassionate and loving. I haven't seen much of her since I got married. But she will always be remembered by me.

I went to HIgh School with Ruth - and I regret, I did not have much communication with her afterward. But I do remember her as being involved with her family and loving that role. Sorry to hear she has passed. Sincere Condolences, Mary Allen
