Your mom was such a delight. I did in fact work many of those night shifts with your mom, Lorrie Schouten and Rosemary Thoms.. The work always got done but oh we would have some good laughs and the stories that could be told...... A long life well lived and now she has earned her rest. Fondly remembered Maureen and Stephen Dineen

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Mothers are a vital part of any family. Remember the good times and continue family interactions as she would want you too.
To Doris's family, I send my heartfelt sympathy to all of you ! I worked with Doris at Louise Marshall Hospital for many years. She was a caring , compassionate and dedicated nurse. She always treated patients and staff with kindness and respect. She knit a wonderful blue cardigan with a train on it and gave it to me when our son was born. He wore it when he was two , his favorite sweater ! When he out grew it , I carefully packed that sweater away. This past winter, I unpacked that little sweater that still looked great and gave it to my son's 2 year old boy. Each time he wore that sweater it made me smile and think of Doris , her kindness and generosity. Rest in Peace my friend !

I have many lovely and fun memories of time spent in the Burke house during my grade school and early high school years. Doris was always welcoming to the additional friends and chaos her kids would bring home. Later, I recall her compassionate care for both my parents during hospital stays, which will never be forgotten. Sincerest condolences to the Burke family in the loss of this fine lady.
