Don Norris
July 7, 2024
NORRIS, Don – Peacefully and surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his cherished wife, Jean Norris (2020). Loving father of Debra (Frank) Wale, Colleen (John) Mann, and Keith (Sylvia) Norris. Dear grandfather of seven grandchildren and many beloved great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Norman and Charles.
Don was a proud family man with a wonderful sense of humour. His adventurous spirit led he and his family on many road trips creating cherished memories. Don always took interest in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved hearing stories about their activities. He had a unique ability to connect with people, putting them at ease with his warm smile and genuine interest in their lives. Don was a natural athlete and liked to keep busy. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, walking groups, dancing and playing Euchre. Don’s caring spirit will live on through his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rowley and the devoted, caring nursing staff at Louise Marshall Hospital.
Family and friends were fortunate to recently gather and celebrate Don’s 90th birthday; a day filled with love and good memories. As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to Cancer Patient Services, the VON or the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
Condolences
All of us at The Spot were heartbroken to hear of Don’s passing. He and Jean were part of our Spot family and we will miss his smile and stories. He is now dining again with his dear Jean. Thinking of all Don’s family and friends he was such a gentleman and will be greatly missed. 💔😢🙏
— Marie, July 19, 2024In the very short time that Don spent with us at Birmingham Retirement Community, it was evident to see Don’s kind and gentle demeanour. It was a pleasure and privilege to get to know him.
My deepest sympathy to Don’s family and friends. Hold tight to those precious memories. May you find comfort in knowing he is now at peace. Rest easy, Don.
Sincerely,
Deb Wollis

I met Don in our Mt. Forest Grief Group and always appreciated his lovely memories and life experiences with his wife Jean.
It was surprising to see just how many people knew Don no matter where we went and his warm smile and greetings were given to everyone that he met.
He was truly a kind and caring man that we will all sadly miss during our meetings and coffee times together.
Sincere condolences to all of Don's family members. It is difficult to realize his many stories and and greetings on the many occasions we would meet with him, have come to an end with his passing. He made friends with everyone who resided at Strathcona Village Homes and also anyone he met at the coffee shops or Sports Complex.
Don was well known in the Mount Forest community as he was always willing to chat about his life's experiences, which also included his dear wife Jean, who shared all the adventures in his life. He missed her greatly!
Don will be missed by all those who were fortunate to have known him.

We have lived 2 doors from Don for a yr and half. Enjoyed his chats and humour. We had both lived in Orangeville for many years and knew a lot of the same people. Lots to talk about. May he rest in peace after a tough few months.
