Bennet “Ben” Kopecki
June 3, 2024
KOPECKI, Bennet “Ben” - A loving father and husband, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 3, 2024, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. His unwavering strength and love for life touched everyone who knew him. Ben’s strong faith sustained him throughout his illness. He found solace in prayer and believed in the power of divine grace.
Ben was a devoted husband to his wife, Betty, and a proud father of five children, Krystyna (James), Joanne (Carlos), Andrew (Samm), Cecilia and Ella (Chris). His eight grandchildren adored their “Papa,” and his influence will continue to shape their lives. He greatly appreciated the support and love of his extended family and friends, and the companionship of his many granddogs over the years. His love knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with the people around him.
Ben’s heart also belonged to the sprawling beauty of the West Coast. He loved to share stories of his time in the Rocky Mountains and on the Pacific Ocean.
He taught his children that life was richer when set to music. From classic rock to modern hits, we all have a song that reminds us of Dad.
Ben was also the go-to person for advice on the latest gadgets and technologies. He could diagnose any problem and fix it. His workbench was always a treasure trove of tools and spare parts.
Ben’s memory will last forever in the laughter of family gatherings, the hum of his favourite songs, and the glow of screens he tinkered with. As we mourn his loss, we celebrate the remarkable man he was—a beacon of faith, strength, wisdom, and unwavering love.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest, on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Kenilworth. Following, all are invited for refreshments and fellowship at Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
Rest in peace, dear Ben. Your spirit lives on in our hearts.
Condolences

Betty I am sorry to hear of Bens passing,
my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the entire Kopecki family.
I was a stray university student from the US who had nowhere to go for Canadian Thanksgiving when Krystyna brought me home with her way back in 1998, and Ben and Betty welcomed me and made me feel like family. It became a bit of a tradition, one that I sorely missed after moving to the Maritimes, as those visits with my "adopted Canadian family" were always filled with joy and laughter. Ben was so full of kindness, humour, joy, and love for his family. He was an example of everything a loving father should be, and it was obvious how important his family was to him and how important he was to them.
To the Kopecki family, who have always been so kind, supportive, and generous to me, I send you all my love as you mourn the loss of a wonderful man. Thinking of you all and sending you love.
Jen, Rakesh, Kellan, and Miles

My deepest condolences to the Kopecki family. I was blessed to work with Krystyna a few years ago and we often found ourselves speaking about our parents. Krystyna spoke about her father often. She spoke about his deep love of the West Coast and his inspirational commitment to his faith. It was evident in the ways she spoke about him, that he was an incredible man. A man that Krystyna, and her family, loved & adored in abundance. In knowing Krystyna, I am confident that he will continue to live on in her and all others that knew and loved in. May you rest in Eternal peace, Ben. 🦋
— Jennifer Mendes, June 4, 2024Our hearts and Prayers go out to you Betty and to your wonderful Family at this Sad time. Ben was a wonderful person and we feel Blessed to have gotten to know him.
