AMARAL, Jack – A resident of Mount Forest, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Carole Amaral (2019). Father of Sandy and her husband Dave Desmarais of London, Kim and her husband Herb Gibson of Mount Forest, Kevin Amaral and his wife Lylah of Waterloo, and Dorothy Chapman of Kapuskasing. Cherished grandfather of Adrian Desmarais and Lynn, Eric Desmarais and Katie, Jennifer Baia and Junior, Derek Gibson and Kristina, Corrie Menzies and Joshua, Justin Amaral and Anny, Nicole Amaral, Phil Chapman and Hailey, and Brett Chapman; and great-grandfather of Julia, Livia, Ava and Judah Baia, Rose, Eve, Jack and Myah Menzies, Aubrey Gibson, Scarlett and Josie Chapman, and Rogue Desmarais. Survived by his siblings: Vivian Wagner and Bud, Louisa Greenhouse, and Robert Amaral and Penny; sister-in-law Barb Burrows; and brother-in-law Barry Jeffcoat. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Gladys (Byat) Amaral, great-granddaughter Grace Menzies, sister Joan Jeffcoat and brother-in-law John Greenhouse.
Jack was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Mount Forest and built the cross in the sanctuary and entrance, among other things. He was a skilled and passionate woodworker. Jack was a long-time employee at IGA and L&M, working as a butcher.
A private service will be held with inurnment in Mount Forest Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jack are asked to consider First Baptist Church. Donations and online condolences may be made at www.englandfuneralhome.com
