We are so very sorry to hear of Lou’s passing. I (Larry) recall Lou chasing me around the house swinging her oversized spatula at my behind! Many fond memories of Lou.
Holding you in our thoughts.
Sincerely Larry & Debbie Wollis
I only knew Luella a little, She had purchased a home in Poinsettia Park Ft Myers Florida. U.S.A. where I as well have a property. We socialized some, just simple good times and often with a Caeser drink on the table. She knew several Canadians from up her way. The Coe's, and Beckers to name just two. Myself Canadian snowbird we had things in common for sure Never knew she played softball, I did so myself for several years. Because of Luella, in part, is how Bryan and Kim Reay bought a home in the same park.
— Diane Brown, March 6, 2024Kim and Bryan,
We are so sorry for your family's loss. Sending love
My most sincere condolences to all Lou's family.
My husband, Wally, knew Lou and Leroy. One day while chatting with Lou, she asked him if his wife played softball. He told her yes and she boldly told him to bring me to the Optimist ball diamond on Sunday afternoon, which is when I met Lou and was immediately told to get out on the infield for some practice. Tom Yake was the coach at that time. I loved getting out playing ball with many good players who welcomed me to the team. The team was an industrial team, playing other ladies' teams in the surrounding area. We played ball for 20 years together, until the league folded in 1994. Lou was always supportive. Those were wonderful years for me and I'm sure they were for Lou as well. She was such a good player.
I have met Lou several times over the years and always had a few memories to recall.
