SEIFRIED, Leonard – Passed away, peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Inez Seifried (née McEachern) (2009). Loving father of Diane and husband Bill Dineen. Also survived by his grandchildren Grant, Clayton and Allison. Brother of Kay Forbes, Shirley (Garry) Baker, Betty Ann (Don) Riddell and brother-in-law of Rolinda Smith. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Les Seifried and Laverne (Sandra) Seifried, Jim Smith, sister Marion (Don) Matthews and brother-in-law Vernon Forbes.
Leonard was born in Minto Township and lived in his Egremont Street home for over 70 years. He owned and operated a plumbing and heating business for over 50 years. Leonard joined the Mount Forest Fire Department and later served as Deputy Fire Chief for 34 years. He was an active member of many organizations in our community. He was also an active gardener who loved his dahlias.
Visitation will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest on Wednesday, October 25th from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Thursday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9375 Lover’s Lane, Mount Forest. A come-and-go celebration of Leonard’s life will follow at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church Parish Hall, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2:30 p.m.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Leonard are asked to consider the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

Len was a good friend to everyone and lived a wonderful long life.
Len was always at the Sports Complex at Seniors' games on Wednesday afternoons. I would also see him at Prime Timers one Friday morning each month. He always had time to chat.
His smiling face will be missed throughout the community.

Please accept our deepest sympathies. Len was just a wonderful man! We got to know him when he did lots of plumbing work at our house on Fergus Street. We will never forget the day he discovered a skunk had fallen into our addition foundation and was staring him in the eyes. I worked at Birmingham Retirement and would invite him to the seniors' lunch and entertainment. He always sat with Lou Mulhall and Ray Horrigan. I could never sit any of them apart.
