Condolences
Dear Blair, Brent and Craig,
Very late but my sympathies and condolences for the passing of your dear mom, she was my aunty Marlene and I often thought I was named after her when I was little. So many great memories of visiting her and Elmer, she always had lots of stories about you guys even though you were usually away. She could always cheer anyone up with her lovely smile and friendly laugh.
Lots of Love, Marlene
Blair, Brent, and Craig,
You and your Mom and Dad will be in my thoughts and my heart this weekend. I'd like to think your Mom and Dad are reunited and filled with joy. I am currently living in Nova Scotia and taking a 3-year program in Acupuncture, unfortunately, I can not be with you in person at your Mom's celebration of life but I will be remembering her and holding all of you in my heart. Thinking of you all with a warm smile on my face. Love Jennifer
So sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. I was her homecare worker for a couple of years and always enjoyed our talks. She was proud of all her family and talked of them with much love.
— Anna Nieuwenhuis, February 23, 2022Dear Blair, Brent and Craig: I have fond memories of your whole family! I babysat you boys, your parents were great friends of my parents, and your Mom graciously hosted a wedding shower for me many years ago. Such a lovely family! Thinking of you and yours at his hard time
Madeline (Tighe) Ruehlicke
Our deepest sympathy to all the family in the passing of Marlene.
She was a wonderful lady and it was always a treat to visit with her.
My sympathy to all the Lowry family. Many wonderful memories will be with you.
It happens that, a few days ago, I put my hands on a program for the 1947 Music Festival in Ripley Township Hall. Marlene Lowry shared the Announcer duties with Eugene Walden. One of the numbers was a piano trio featuring pupils from S.S.11, Huron -Evelyn, Margaret and Marion McTavish.
The motto printed on the cover was: It is a fine thing to hear music; It is finer to make music; It is finest to make music in company with others.
I’m sure the Lowry and MacKenzie families lived by this motto!
Sincerely, Ruth Anne
Please accept my sincere sympathy at this most difficult time.
— Brenda Harris, January 31, 2022Blair, Susan, Brent, Craig, Carrie: your mom and dad both had a real gift of making every person that crossed their paths feel so special and important. I think of Ma often as I go about my life, and will continue to think of her and miss her. Love to you all.

— Karen K Switzer, January 30, 2022My sincere heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Marlenes’ families.
Also being one of the 40 cousins, we always thought so much of Marlene and Elmer.
We had so many great times in our youth, because Uncle Eldie and Aunt Alma’s was the place to go so often on Sundays

To all of Marlene’s family:
I have such good and fond memories of sleepovers with Marlene and Andy (Elmer) and being driven to high school in Wingham on mornings when Marlene was teaching.
What fun and what a wicked sense of humour in both Marlene and Elmer.
I pray all of your good memories will sustain you as you miss her in your daily lives.
Blessings,

DIANNE AND FRED HOEHN
Dear Blair, Susan and Family,
Our deepest condolences upon learning that
your precious mother who passed away recently. We are thinking of you during these difficult and sad times at this moment in your life. May she Rest in Peace!!
Blair, Brent & Craig; We want to send our thoughts and sympathies to you and your families. Being one of the 40 "cuzzins" , we will miss our dear Marlene with her lovely smile. When we were kids, our family (John & Dorothy Carruthers, Gayle & Anne) would visit with Grandma Carruthers in Lucknow when she lived beside the Legion, and so we would have more room to sleep, Anne and I often stayed with Marlene and Elmer in their apartment on the corner. What fun we had there -- Elmer always teased us and Marlene would spoil us and always have that special smile. We later saw her mostly at the family picnics but I always think of her and her smile. She was so proud of her family and with good reason.
Hugs to all of you.
We send our sincere condolences to the Lowry and MacKenzie families on the passing of Marlene. There are fond memories of her being like a big sister to me when I was a teenager. She was such a caring person. She will be missed.
— Doreen and Don Steele, January 26, 2022My deepest symapathy to the MacKenie Family.
Brent and family;
Sincerest condolences on the passing of Marlene. As John and I sit enjoying our morning hot beverage we are recalling the many memorable moments and laughs provided by Brent and Marlene when we would cross paths in Mount Forest. Her smile and sweet manner will forever be embedded in my mind. Hugs.
Sorry for the family's loss
Blair, Brent and Craig
So ends an era. Cadillac cars, vans, guitars, Pt. Clark, motorbikes, bands, who could land the prettiest date, parties ...oh boy...you guys sure put Elmer and Marlene thru the paces.
Gentlemen, both your Mom and Dad were giants to me. Just a plain, hard working Canadian couple who raised a trio of great boys who became even greater men.
Elmer always trusted me to look after Craig on our ventures. Marlene always, always would insist on me coming in and at least sitting down for a minute to explain to her what our plan of action was for that particular day.
I remember Mrs. MacKenzie washing the chalkboard off in between classes at public school with a rag and water...and Elmer outside sneaking a cig 5 years after he’d quit or decked out in his OPP uniform.
Craig worked for H. Bye for 15 years and operated an hi-hoe with the same precision as Marlene did cleaning a chalkboard. Craig was the first of two operators in Ontario to master a Roto-Tilt.
A lot of fantastic things come out of that little house Marlene and Elmer built on Egremont, or Wellington, or behind the arena parking lot or beside the curling club????...that is a story only Ian Campbell or Elmer could effectively tell😊.
Hats off to you gentlemen.
If we can be the giants your parents were...well then we’ve accomplished something.
Sincerely:
Carolyn and Randy Bye
My condolences to Blair, Brent, Craig and their families. I don't remember any time that Marlene was not smiling and happy to see me. Raising three boys gives one a lot of patience and she and Elmer always seemed to know when not to be at the cottage and when not to be at the house. Rest in peace.
— Stephen Adams, January 25, 2022I heard from my sister last night, of your Mom's passing. Our sincere condolences to Blair, Brent, and Craig and families.
Your Mom and Dad had some great trips with my parents - I can see them now - the 4 of them - spending time on the boat, or traipsing around the country. I will always think fondly of both your Mom and Dad. Good neighbours; good friends.
Our Sincere Sympathy to all of Marlene's family and friends. This may be our second condolence as I am not sure the first one went. She was a quiet, gently lady with a cute little ready smile. She loved all of her family and had special love for Susan, Blair's wife. Our niece Jennifer is married to Paul Lowry who spoke kindly of his aunt. May her Soul Rest In Peace. As you miss her, you will treasure your happy memories of her and Elmer. Our condolences to all, Bob and Mary McIntee
— Bob and Mary McIntee, January 25, 2022Sorry to hear your mom passed.

Again my sincere condolences .
