Jan.1969 we came to town, to take over the CTC Store on Main St., Ken was one of our first customers, and also came in to welcome us to town. That was the beginning of a long lasting friendship with Ken & Merle. Merle was a Great Friend, Wife,
Proud Mother, and Grandmother. We had many good times together, Merle will be missed.

Your Mom was a very special, gracious and kind person.
It was always a pleasure to meet up and visit with both your Mom and Dad. We treasure many special moments; many of them at church because they occupied the pew in front of us on most Sundays..
We keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Merle always had kind words, and her gentle presence brought out the best in all who had the chance to know her.
Our Mount Forest memories will always include your Mom and Dad singing in Church, chatting when meeting up on the street or at special events. The best memory of all was the giggling during the card ladies evenings. Sorry for you loss.

— Sally Bell, August 30, 2021Gone but never forgotten. Betty Lou, Heather, Paul and Peter... you guys had an awesome mom.
Her and Ken had a darn good, long lasting and successful run with marriage, children, grandchildren, family, friendships, hobbies and business.
Merle treated every kid in the neighbourhood with kindness and respect.
I don’t think Merle ever missed a single Wednesday night card game with Vietta, Marg, Lou, Hazel, Ruby and Tootie. They sure loved each other’s company.
The fridge door at your house was always a magnet and paper testament to the latest accomplishments of you kids when you were growing up.
Whenever I’d telephone , Merle would recognize my voice and strike up a conversation.
Fergus St. N. no longer bears any of the families we remember, but what precious memories we have!
