Condolences
Dear Joyce, Linda, Brad and families: I was deeply saddened to hear of Evelyn's passing. She had always been a wonderful aunt to me and my sister. I have many fond memories of her - especially at family reunions. She was a lovely woman who was always kind to me and unfailingly sent the most beautiful Christmas card our way every year. The last time I saw Evelyn she was stopping by my Gramma’s house to give us freshly picked strawberries and chat. I received news of Evelyn's passing while I was traveling in Europe, I am very sorry I was unable to attend the service - I wish I could have been there. I am sorry for your loss. Love, Eliza.

— Lynda Neilson ( Dodds ), July 22, 2009I am so sorry to hear about Evelyn's passing. She was always unfailingly kind to me and I know how much she will be missed. I wish I could have come to the funeral to say goodbye. I'm teaching english in Japan this year or else I would have been there. Actually, I've been very lucky this year to have been able to share a correspondence with her. I sent her some letters about my life in Japan and always looked forward to her replies as she filled me in with news from home. We had planned to get together when I come home in a few weeks so I could show her all my pictures. You have my deepest sympathies. I have many wonderful memories of Evelyn. I know she will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. All my love, Eve

— Mark Horsburgh, July 18, 2009Dear Linda, Joyce and Brad and families: I am sorry for your family's loss. Although we haven't been in touch for a number of years now, I still carry the memory of your mom's smile, her kindness to everyone who entered her home and her calm presence. I remember Bev teasing her about the way she unconsciously held her left arm while she wiped down the dining room table, and how she lovingly chuckled at him. I also remember her ensuring I took garbage bags to ensure we stayed dry on one of those snowmobiling afternoons I was lucky enough to share out at your farm. My best wishes to all of your family at this time of remembrance. Love, Janet Leiper
