Cockburn, Jack; at Lady Minto Hospital, Salt Spring Island, B.C on Sunday May 26th 2013. John'Jack' Cockburn formerly of Mount Forest in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Norma (Smith) Cockburn. Loved father of Dianne Fidler of Salt Spring Island, B.C. Loving grandfather of Lianne Fidler of Salt Spring Island, B.C and the late John Fidler. Loving great grandfather of Tara and Aidan. Dear brother of Hugh Cockburn. Survived by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sister Jean Smith & husband Hubert & sister-in-law Lillian Cockburn. Cremation has taken place. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held at the England Funeral Home on Saturday August 10th at 11:00a.m. followed by a memorial service. Inurnment at Holstein Cemetery. Diane and Family: I was so sorry to hear of Jacks passing. Your Dad and Mom played a big part in our family. Jack as my Dad's right-hand man, and your Mom just a wonderful family friend. I would always try to get extra gas if I knew my Dad was out of town, and your Dad would always catch me. We also knew we could get Jack to give us some money out of the cash register if we bugged him enough. Our parents had a very long friendship! Wonderful memories!
