Condolences
To the Cottell fmaily. You have my sympathy in the passing of Bernie. I have lots of memories of Bernie when a few of us chummed together. A lot of laughs, pranks, and just clean fun. He will be missed, but the memories are precious.
— Sheila Hamilton, June 25, 2011Hi Doris! Remember me? Had a sleep-over at your house many years ago and your mother made lemon pie, just for me you said. I often point out your old house to my hubby, Bob, when we are up that way. I remember Bernie as a sweet gentle person from when I knew him in high school. I liked him. Too young to die, but we don't have a choice, do we? This is just to let you know that I think of you guys every now and then even though we never see each other anymore. My condolences to all of your family.
— Judy Barrette-Flint (daughter of Joe & Mern Barrette, formerly of Mt. Forest), June 27, 2011I know Bernie because he was my neighbor for the last so many years in Windsor. He was such a sweet, sincere, and helpful man. He was always there to offer a hand when we needed it, whether it was helping me clean snow off my car or helping my mom fix our door handle. He was much to young to die but knowing how much he has helped the people around him should leave you with a little bit of comfort he was a great person. I send you my condolences and Bernie will most definitely be missed by me and my family, and by our many neighbors that he has left such a positive outlook on. Rest in Peace Bernie.
— Sabrina, June 27, 2011Are thoughts and prayers are with your family during this hard time. Bernie was a very caring and compassionate man, that would help anyone if needed. His smile and enthusiasm kept us all going as neighbours. He will be truly missed! Jonscot Gibbons & Phillip Thies
— Jonscot Gibbons & Phillip Thies, June 27, 2011Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this sad time. I will always remember Bernie's great smile and cheery hello whenever we met. Our parents moved us to this place called Mt.Forest from Essex county and that was what bonded a friendship between our families. Please accept our sympathies on the passing of your brother.
— Don and Sharon (Hicks) Irvin, June 28, 2011My condolences to Bernies family. I hadn't seen or heard of Bernie since I moved out west over 30 years ago. I knew Bernie as I was starting my policing career in Mount Forest as he was a local who was a member of the WRP. Very friendly and outgoing and many good memories.
