Deaken, Gladys; at South Grey Bruce Health Centre, Durham on Saturday August 2, 2008. Gladys Isabel Deaken of Mount Forest in her 70th year. Loved mother of Don Biggs of Collingwood, John Stafford & Rita of B.C., Shari Avison & husband Bruce of Flesherton, Richard Young & wife Terri-Lynn of Holstein, Franklin Young & Jennifer of Holstein and her late daughter Michelle. Loving grandmother to her 8 grandchildren. Dear sister of June Groulx of Windsor, Betty Brown & John of Newbury and Linda Cormier of Nova Scotia. Also survived by her uncle Edgar Cann and her nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at the Hendrick Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Parkinson 's Foundation would be appreciated by the family. My husband John and I wish to offer our condolences to all of the children. Although we have not been in contact often in later years with my sister we remember her with fondness. Sorry we will not be able to be with you at the memorial but age and illness prevent it. We will be thinking of you. I notice in the obituary my name is incorrect, it should be Betty Brown.
