Gladys Laurene Staples

STAPLES, Gladys Laurene – Passed away peacefully at Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest on Saturday, May 30, 2026 in her 100th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Robert Staples (2019). Loving mother of Lorne and Dianne Staples of Meaford, Earl and Jo-Anne Staples of Waterloo, Norm and Ruth Anne Staples of Arthur, Lois and Glenn Shaw of Guelph, Linda Saunders and Doug Parsons of Arthur Township. Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mae Gibson of Stoney Creek, and many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Ella Tweedle, sister Evelyn (John) Weatherston and brother Laverne Tweedle. 

A funeral service will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest on Friday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow in the Mount Forest Cemetery. Immediately following the interment, everyone is invited to the Mount Forest United Church, 175 Queen Street East, Mount Forest for a luncheon and time of fellowship.
